That Seville is wonderful, everyone knows it. But now, in addition, the well-known Lonely Planet travel guide has recognized it as the best city to visit in 2018. What’s so special about it? Judge for yourself.  We have made a small selection of images to show only part of the magic of Seville.

1. La Giralda

Seville would not be Seville without the magnificent bell tower of its cathedral, the minaret of the great mosque that occupied these grounds for centuries. A beauty that must be admired from all angles. Of course, you have to climb to the top to see fabulous views of the city.

2. Cathedral

It is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. But beyond its dimensions, it is a real treasure. Its stained glass windows, its magnificent vault, the beautiful chapels and jewels such as the tomb of Christopher Columbus make it a unique construction.

3. Reáles Alcázares

It is the oldest Royal Palace in use in Europe. And not only that, but it is one of the most beautiful and charming buildings in the city. Contemplating its Mudejar style patios and rooms, its coffered ceilings and its gardens is an unforgettable experience.

4. Torre del Oro

Guardian of the Guadalquivir, this tower is another of the symbols of the city. Apparently, its name derives from the golden glow that was reflected in the river by a mortar-based coating of lime and straw. Today it no longer has it, but the Torre del Oro is still beautiful.

Charming alleys and hidden squares remind you that the old Jewish quarter was here. Each of its corners envelops us in the magic of Seville . It is essential to get lost in it aimlessly.

6. Maria Luisa Park

It is the green lung of Seville. A monumental garden in which to enjoy idyllic walks, ponds, fountains and statues. Ideal for walks, to relax, to declare eternal love or, simply, to let yourself be enveloped by that magic of Seville.

7. Plaza of Spain

On one side of the Parque de María Luisa is this unmistakable semicircular square. Its towers, its canal and its bridges are unmistakable. As are the banks covered with tiles that make mention of each of the Spanish provinces.

8. Casa de Pilatos

It is one of the most beautiful palaces in Andalusia. The Casa de Pilatos is a magnificent example of Sevillian architecture.  Inside, there are two patios, a spectacular staircase, beautifully decorated rooms and a whole collection of art that will take your breath away.

9. Triana Bridge

Built in the mid-nineteenth century, this iron-framed bridge gives access to the most charismatic and eldest neighborhood in Seville. In Triana you will not find great monuments, but you will find a very special atmosphere, very Sevillian. Strolling through its streets and tasting some tapas in its bars is also part of the magic of Seville.

It is the symbol of the most modern Seville, because this is a very lively city. Let’s talk about the largest wooden structure in the world. You can walk along the walkways on one of its levels or enjoy unique views of the city from its viewpoint. You choose.

And if there is a very special moment to immerse yourself in the magic of Seville, it is its Holy Week. It is impossible not to catch the deep feeling that is lived in the streets before the passage of the different brotherhoods with their images.
