Defining the gastronomy of the United States is difficult, and  choosing the most representative dishes is very complicated.  It is impossible to mention all the gastronomic gems of this great country. We are simply going to try to give you the clues of the most significant ones. Do not stop trying any of them.

One of the characteristics of American cuisine is the quality of its products. The immense farms and farmlands, its wonderful coastlines and its fishing industry, as well as the confluence of different cultures make up one of the most delicious culinary offerings one can have access to.

They say that anyone who has not tasted American beef does not know the true flavor of the meat. The truth is that the gastronomic offer in terms of meat is wonderful. The quality of their meats is excellent and the different ways of cooking make them even more special.

Mention should be made of the humble but exquisite Meat Loaf, a baked mince pie with barbecue sauce (for which there are many different recipes). Also the Baked Country Ham , the famous baked smoked ham that is the perfect centerpiece for any family celebration.

One of the most unknown components for tourists are the dishes based on fish and shellfish. The quality of the seafood off the coast of the United States is excellent.  Not only that, but the different ways of preparing them are extraordinarily original.

You can’t visit Boston or New England without trying their excellent Clam ChowderIt is a clam chowder, which also has its lobster-based version. It is one of the most exquisite dishes that you can try.

Cajun-Creole cuisine also offers delicious dishes based on fish, seafood and rice, the combination of which is a poem for the senses. Mention must be made of the jambalaya. It can be found in several versions, also with meat, although a delicious one is shrimp.

On the West Coast, in San Francisco, we find another seafood-based delicacy: cioppino. A very old and elaborate recipe soup, in the style of the French bouillabaise , based on crab, wine and spices.

We have already seen that the cuisine of the United States is exquisite. But  sweets and desserts deserve a place of honor in this review of flavors. Impossible to mention them all, the best thing is to arrive and explore.
