It is impossible to enjoy Nice beach without strolling along the Promenade des Anglais. It is the promenade that runs along the coast, with a total length of 4 kilometers. Its name (Paseo de los Ingleses) is due to the fact that during the 20th century, Nice was a destination frequented by Britons who spent their holidays here.

Today it is the center of life in Nice for beach lovers. For its four kilometers you have beaches of all kinds, from the quietest to the most crowded. But beware! Some are private and you will not be able to use them.

2. Visit the castle hill

The castle hill is one of the best places to see in all of Nice. Centuries ago it was a medieval fortress that served to defend the city. However, in 1706 Louis XIV ordered its demolition.

Currently, you can see the ruins of the castle and enjoy the waterfall and the botanical garden that is around it. To admire this gem and the views from it, you will have to climb 200 steps. Although no, it is not necessary, there is also an elevator.

3. Discover the flower market

This is one of the must-see experiences you have to enjoy in Nice. It is a market that is held every day except Monday from early in the morning until late afternoon.

You will find it in the historic center of the city. Hundreds of stalls with colored awnings are mainly distributed along Cours Saleya street. Throughout the day you can buy from exotic fruits to vegetables, typical Nice products and, of course, very different species of flowers. Do not miss it!

4. Get lost in its historic center

Nice is a beautiful city from its turquoise beach to the last corner of its historic center. We advise you to take a walk through its old and narrow streets. A colorful place, with tall buildings, windows with wooden shutters and plants hanging from the balconies.

After your visit to the flower market, we are sure that you will love discovering the rest of the streets that surround the historic center of the city. You can discover religious monuments such as the Orthodox Basilica of Saint Nicholas, the Sainte-Réparate Cathedral or the Anglican Church of Nice.

5. Do not leave without trying the delicious socca

If you are a lover of good food, we advise you to close your visit to Nice with a flourish by enjoying the multitude of restaurants that you can find. Both on the promenade, as in the port or the old town there are countless places  (some with a Michelin star).

But if you want to try and enjoy something very typical of Nice, we encourage you to try socca. It is a kind of tortilla made with chickpea flour, oil and black pepper.

We can only advise you to let yourself be carried away by the rhythm and the waters of Nice. You have chosen a magical destination to go on vacation and we are sure that you will never forget it. Get ready for an adventure in the best city on the Côte d’Azur!
